An Atlanta-born, Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist who focuses her efforts as a filmmaker, writer, actor, photographer, and producer on expanding our understanding of the human experience. Her feature directorial debut, I Wish You All the Best, premiered at SXSW and will be released theatrically by Lionsgate in 2025.

Her recent work as an actor includes her Broadway debut in Sam Gold’s Romeo + Juliet and her starring role in New York Theatre Workshop’s award-winning Becoming Eve. She remains widely recognized for her appearances in 13 Reasons Why and Jeremy O. Harris’ play Daddy.

Her first memoir, Maybe This Will Save Me—a national bestseller—was published by HarperCollins.

After experience in the literary world, Ruhamah worked at Maven Screen Media where she helped develop film and TV focused on diversifying the representation of women in Hollywood. She was raised in Switzerland and is a graduate of Middlebury College.
